PERITO MORENO GLACIER, ARGENTINA
The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the most impressive glaciers in the world. It is located in the Los Glaciares National Park in the south west of Santa Cruz province, Argentina. The ice covers over 250 kmē is the world's third largest reserve of fresh water. In my mind, it represents the defining symbol of environmental conservation. As I stood motionless in front of the 4km wide ice-face presented above, I wondered what view will be afforded to our children in the same spot a few decades from now?
