MUMBLES SUNRISE, WALES
The Mumbles (otherwise The Mumbles – Welsh Y Mwmbwls) is an extremely large village and adjacent headland stretching into Swansea Bay, Wales. For me, the area marks the beginning of the Gower Peninsula. The peninsula is one of the UK's major tourist attractions and was the first area in the British Isles to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in 1956. At around 70 square miles in area, the Gower could easily fill a creative lifetime for any visual artist. With its vast stretches of dramatic cliffs and bays, it would have been remiss of me not to try to capture at least some aspect of the coast during my time there…
